Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Remove the Instrument Panel (IP) cluster trim bezel. Refer to Bezel Replacement - IP Cluster .
Remove the following components, depending on how equipped:
- The IP cupholder cover, shown.
- The IP cupholder. Refer to Cupholder Replacement .
- The floor console extension. Refer to Console Replacement (Base Console) or Console Replacement (Luxury Console) .

Remove the bolts connecting the lower trim panel to the IP assembly.

Disconnect the following electrical connectors:
- The power outlet ports (1, 2).
- The ashtray lamp (3).
- The IP compartment lamp, if equipped.
Remove the lower trim panel from the IP assembly.
