Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Use the J 36346 in order to remove the push pin retainers that retain the rear bumper fascia to the rear wheelhouse extensions.
- Remove the bolt retaining the rear bumper fascia (3) at the wheelhouse opening.
- Disconnect the license lamp electrical connector.
- Remove the rear fog lamp bulb socket from the rear fog lamp, if equipped.
- Open the rear compartment.
- Remove the rear compartment sill trim. Refer to COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT--REAR .
- Fold back the rear compartment side trim panels.
- Remove the nuts retaining the rear bumper fascia studs (1) to the quarter panels.
- Remove the nuts retaining the fascia to the rear quarter panel.
- Remove the rear bumper fascia (3) and the energy absorber (2) from the vehicle.
- Remove the rear fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to FOG LAMP REPLACEMENT -- REAR .
- Remove the energy absorber from the fascia. Refer to ENERGY ABSORBER REPLACEMENT - Rear .
