Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing & Jacket - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift Standard)

- Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
- Remove the steering wheel from the column. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
- Remove the steering column from the vehicle. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
- Remove the electronic lock module assembly. Refer to Electronic Column Lock Module - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift) or Electronic Column Lock Module - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Floor Shift) .
- Remove the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly. Refer to Turn Signal & Multifunction Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
- Remove the linear shift assembly. Refer to Linear Shift Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift) .
- Inspect the steering column for accident damage. Refer to Steering Column Accident Damage Inspection - Off Vehicle .
- Remove the adapter and bearing assembly (1) from the steering shaft assembly.
- Remove the steering shaft assembly (1) from the steering column support assembly (2) and the steering column jacket assembly (3).
- Remove the 4 TORXR head screws (1) from the steering column support assembly (2).
- Discard the 4 TORXR head screws (1).
- Remove the steering column support assembly (2) from the steering column jacket assembly (3).
