Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Savana Special, 2002 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2002 GMC Savana, and 2002 Chevrolet Chevy Express. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the seatback frame to the seat cushion frame.
    CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  2. Install the bolts in order to retain the seatback frame to the seat cushion frame.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 35 N.m (26 ft lbs).

  3. Secure the access flaps at the lower rear corners of the seatback.
  4. Install the armrest to the seatback. Refer to Armrest Replacement - Rear Seat (All Except Luxury)  or Armrest Replacement - Rear Seat (Luxury Y91)  .
  5. Install the seat to the vehicle. Refer to Seat Replacement - Rear Bench (All Except Luxury)  or Seat Replacement - Rear Bench (Luxury Y91)  .
