Removal Procedure

The front seatback recliner mechanism is mounted to the inboard side of the seat. The outboard hinge bolts to the seatback and the seat bottom.

  1. Remove the front seat from the vehicle. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (All Except Luxury)  or Seat Replacement - Bucket (Luxury Y91)  .
  2. Release the seat cushion cover in order to access the bolts that retain the hinge or recliner mechanism (2) to the seat cushion frame. Refer to Seat Cushion Cover Replacement - Front (All Except Luxury)  or Seat Cushion Cover Replacement - Front (Luxury Y91)  .
  3. Release the seatback cover and lift enough to access the bolts that retain the hinge or recliner mechanism to the seatback. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front (All Except Luxury)  or Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front (Luxury Y91)  .
  4. Remove the bolts that retain the hinge/recliner mechanism to the seatback frame.
  5. Remove the bolts that retain the hinge/recliner mechanism to the seat cushion frame.
  6. Remove the hinge/recliner mechanism from the seat assembly.
