Park Brake Pedal Assembly: Installation

  1. Install the park brake pedal assembly. See Figure .
  2. Connect the park brake cable (1) to the park brake pedal assembly and install the retaining clip. See Figure .
  3. Install the 3 park brake pedal assembly retaining nuts. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the parking brake switch. Raise support the vehicle.
  5. Connect the front cable (1) to the rear cable (3) at the connector clip (2). See Figure .
  6. Adjust the park brake system. See DRUM PARK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  or DISC PARK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under PARK BRAKE in ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
  7. Lower the vehicle. Position the carpet in place. Install the left carpet retainer. Install the left side instrument panel insulator.
