Brake Drum: Installation

  1. Adjust the drum brakes. See DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under DRUM BRAKES in ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
  2. Install the brake drum.
  3. Install the rear tire and the wheel assembly.
  4. Apply the brakes approximately 3 times in order to seat the brake shoes against the drum.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
