Adjusting Screw: Installation

  1. Use the Brake Shoe Spanner and Spring Remover in order to spread the brake shoes apart.
  2. Install the adjuster.
  3. Install the adjuster spring. Install the straight end of the adjuster spring into the brake shoe. Install the hook end of the adjuster spring to the adjuster actuator.
  4. Adjust the rear drum brakes. See DRUM BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under DRUM BRAKES in ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
  5. Install the brake drum. See BRAKE DRUM  .
  6. Install the rear wheel and tire.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
