Possible Causes

Crash sensor ID mismatch can be caused by having improper sensor installed.
- Inspect each sensor for installation position
Access all crash sensors and inspect for proper sensor installation. If appropriate sensors are installed, go to next step. If appropriate sensors are not installed, replace sensor(s) as necessary. - Inspect SAS control module
Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Connect negative battery cable. Retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) under DIAGNOSTICS. If DTCs B2856, B2886 and/or B2887 are retrieved, replace SAS control module. See SAS CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.If DTCs B2856, B2886 and/or B2887 are not retrieved, test is complete.
