Ride Diagnosis - Too Hard

NOTE: It may be necessary to compare the results of the road test to a like vehicle that is operating properly.
  1. Road test the vehicle in order to verify the customer complaint. Does the vehicle ride too hard? If yes, go to next step. If no, system is okay.
  2. Inspect the tires for the proper inflation pressure. Is the tire inflation pressure correct? If yes, go to step  4 . If no, go to next step.
  3. Inflate the tires to the correct pressure. After correcting tire pressure, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the vehicle trim height. Refer to TRIM HEIGHT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  . Repair as necessary. Has the inspection/repair been performed? If yes, go to next step.
  5. Inspect the springs and struts for wear or damage. Repair or replace as necessary. If repairs, go to next step.
  6. Replace all of the worn or damaged components. For any strut component replacement, refer to Strut, Strut Component and/or Spring Replacement in Front Suspension. For strut, refer to Strut Replacement in Rear Suspension. After repairs, system is okay.
