Installation (Pickup w/4.3L Engine)

  1. Install the starter to the vehicle.
  2. Install the harness to the starter.
  3. Install and tighten the starter solenoid nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the positive cable to the starter.
  5. Install and tighten the starter lead nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Install and tighten the starter motor bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten negative battery cable bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
