Outer Ring, Clip Assembly Note

  1. Fill the outer ring and boot (transaxle side) with the specified grease from a tube, not by hand. Use the specified grease supplied in the boot kit. The correct grease amount is 4.95-5.11 oz. (0.146-0.151L).
  2. Align the marks, and install the outer ring onto the shaft.
  3. Install the boot.
  4. Set the axle shaft to the standard length. Standard length is 22.155-22.548" (562.73-572.73 mm)
  5. Release any trapped air from the boots by carefully lifting up the small end of each boot with a cloth wrapped screwdriver. See Figure .
    CAUTION: Be careful not to allow the grease to leak. Do not damage the boot.
  6. Verify that the axle shaft length is within the specification, in step  4
