Brake Pedal Assembly: Removal

  1. Remove the pushrod retainer from the brake pedal pin. See Fig 1 .
  2. Remove the stop light switch from the brake pedal pushrod pin.
  3. Remove the pushrod from the brake pedal pin.
  4. Remove the bolts that retain the instrument panel center support bracket to the steering column bracket. See Fig 2 .
  5. Remove the bolt that retains the reinforcement to the instrument panel center support bracket.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the remote control door lock receiver.
  7. Remove the instrument panel center support bracket.
  8. Remove the brake pedal nut. See Fig 3 .
  9. Remove the brake pedal bolt.
  10. Remove the brake pedal.
  11. Remove the bushings and the spacer from the brake pedal.
