Park Brake Pedal Assembly: Installation

  1. Install the switch, if removed.
  2. Install the cable to the new park brake lever.
  3. Install the cable end to the lever clevis.
  4. Install the new park brake lever.
  5. Install the three lever to body mounting nuts. Tighten park brake lever mounting nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Connect the electrical connector at the park brake switch.
  7. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  8. Feed the cable through the underbody and clip the cable into place.
  9. Tighten the park brake cable at the equalizer.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Position the carpet in place.
  12. Install the left side insulator panel.
  13. Adjust the park brake. See appropriate procedure under PARK BRAKE  in ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION.
