Master Cylinder: Installation

  1. Install the master cylinder reservoir. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR .
  2. Bench bleed the master cylinder prior to installation. See MASTER CYLINDER BENCH BLEEDING  under BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM.
  3. Install the master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR .
  4. Install the master cylinder mounting nuts. Tighten the master cylinder mounting nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Connect the fluid level sensor electrical connector.
  6. Connect the brake pipes to the master cylinder. Tighten the master cylinder tube nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Fill the master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR  under BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM.
  8. Bleed the brake system. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING  under BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM.
