Installation - Rear Disc

  1. Clean any corrosion from the brake rotor flange.
  2. Use the Hub Cleaning Kit (J-42450-A) in order to clean the hub flange.
  3. Install the brake rotor.
  4. Lubricate and Install the caliper bolt boots to the disc brake caliper mounting bracket.
  5. Lubricate and Install the disc brake pad retainers to the disc brake caliper bracket.
  6. Install the disc brake pads to the disc brake caliper bracket.
  7. Install the disc brake caliper to the mounting bracket.
  8. Install the disc brake caliper bolts. Tighten the disc brake caliper bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Install the tire and wheel.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Fill the master cylinder to the proper level. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR  under BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM.
  12. Apply and release the brake pedal (3/4 stroke) as many times as necessary in order to obtain a firm brake pedal.
