Installation (Front)

- Ensure that the caliper bolt boots are properly installed.
- Install the caliper to the caliper bracket.
- Lubricate the brake caliper bolt shaft.
- Lubricate the brake caliper bolt boots in the caliper bracket.
- Install the brake caliper bolts. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Use a flat-bladed tool in order to install the caliper bracket boot over the shoulder of the caliper bolt.
- Remove the plugs in the brake hose end.
- Assemble the brake hose bolt and the NEW copper brake hose gaskets to the brake hose.
- Install the brake hose bolt to the brake caliper. Tighten the bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the nuts securing the rotor to the hub.
- Install the tire and wheel.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Fill the master cylinder to the proper level. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR under BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM.
- Bleed the brake system. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING under BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM.
- Apply approximately 175 ft lbs (778 N.m) of force to the brake pedal for ten seconds.
- Inspect the brake caliper and hydraulic brake system for brake fluid leaks.
NOTE:
DO NOT lubricate the bolt threads.
