Installation (Front)

- Clean any corrosion from the brake rotor flange.
- Use the Hub Cleaning Kit (J-42450-A) in order to clean the hub flange.
- Install the brake caliper bracket.
- To ensure that the proper clamp load will be present when installed. It is imperative that the threads on the caliper bracket bolts, as well as the mounting holes in the knuckle, be cleaned of all debris and inspected before proceeding with installation. Clean and visually inspect the threads of the caliper bracket bolts and mounting holes in the knuckle.
- Install the brake caliper bracket bolts. Tighten the brake caliper bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Lubricate and Install the brake pad retainers to the brake caliper bracket.
- Lubricate and Install the brake caliper pin boots to the brake caliper pins.
- Lubricate the caliper pins with the grease supplied in the service kit.
- Push the caliper pins in until the pin boots are fully seated.
- Push the caliper pins in and out in order to ensure caliper pins move easily.
- Install the brake pads to the brake caliper bracket.
- Install the brake caliper. See BRAKE CALIPER .
- Install the tire and wheel.
- Lower the vehicle.
NOTE:
Apply Threadlocker GM P/N 12345493 (10953488) or equivalent to the threads of the brake caliper bracket bolts.
