Brake Pads - Front Single Piston Caliper: Installation

- Install the outboard lining, retainer spring on the inboard brake lining and inboard lining. See Fig 1.
- Install the caliper. See BRAKE CALIPER - FRONT SINGLE PISTON .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly.
- Lower the vehicle.
- With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to approximately 2/3 of its travel distance.
- Slowly release the brake pedal.
- Wait 15 seconds, then repeat steps 5 and 6 until a firm brake pedal is obtained. This will properly seat the brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
- Fill the brake master cylinder to the proper level. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FILLING under BLEEDING.
- Burnish the new brake pads. See BURNISHING PADS AND ROTORS under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
