Brake Pads - Front Dual Piston Caliper: Installation

- Install the new anti rattle retainers.
- Install the outboard brake pad. See Figure.
- Install inboard brake pad. See Figure.
- Remove the brake caliper from the support.
- Install the brake caliper. See BRAKE CALIPER - FRONT DUAL PISTON .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Fill the brake master cylinder to the proper level. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR FILLING under BLEEDING.
- With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to approximately 2/3 of its travel distance.
- Slowly release the brake pedal.
- Wait 15 seconds, then repeat steps 9 and 10 until a firm brake pedal is obtained. This will properly seat the brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
- Burnish the new brake pads. See BURNISHING PADS AND ROTORS under SERVICING.
