Brakes Self Apply When Turning Steering Wheel

  1. Were you sent here from a Brake Symptom Table? If so, go to next step. If not, see GENERAL DIAGNOSIS (HYDRAULIC BRAKES) .
  2. Inspect steering system for proper operation. See appropriate STEERING article. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  4. If not, go to next step.
  3. Inspect brake assist system for proper operation. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to next step. If not, go to GENERAL DIAGNOSIS (HYDRAULIC BRAKES) .
  4. Road test vehicle to confirm proper operation. See BRAKE SYSTEM ROAD TEST . Is the condition still present? If condition is still present go to step  2.
