Power Brake Booster: Installation

  1. Install foam insulator on vacuum brake booster. Install brake booster to vehicle. Install, but do not tighten booster mounting nuts.
  2. Lightly lubricate booster push rod pivot pin on brake pedal with silicone lubricant. Install booster push rod to pivot pin on brake pedal. Install foam washer to pivot pin and brake booster push rod retaining clip.
  3. Fully seat brake booster to front of dash and brake pedal assembly. Tighten vacuum brake booster mounting nuts. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install brake modulator valve bracket, if equipped. Install brake modulator assembly, if equipped. Install TCM to bracket.
  5. Install vacuum booster check valve and hose assembly to booster. Reposition and install master cylinder to booster. Install coolant surge hose and clamp to surge tank. Install battery box.
  6. Install underhood electrical center. Install and connect battery. If necessary, bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  .
