Fuel Junction Block: Removal

  1. Move hood to service position, by moving hood hinge bolts to service positions. Disconnect negative cables on both batteries.
  2. Remove retaining bolt in front of shield. Lift up on front of shield. Lift shield off rear bracket. Drain engine coolant. See DRAINING & REFILLING COOLING SYSTEM . Remove drive belt. Remove upper intake sight shield.
  3. Disconnect A/C compressor clutch electrical connector. Disconnect A/C cut-out switch electrical connector. Remove A/C compressor mounting bolts. Reposition A/C compressor with hoses attached to right side of engine compartment.
  4. Disconnect left front injector harness connector. Disconnect oil pressure sending unit harness connector. Disconnect turbocharger coolant hose and clamp from turbocharger bypass valve. Remove 2 bolts retaining water outlet tube to left valve rocker arm cover. Remove bolt retaining water outlet tube to thermostat housing. Remove water outlet tube. Remove and discard O-ring seal.
  5. Disconnect PCV hose from upper valve rocker arm cover. Do not use a screwdriver or other tool to pry hose loose. The hose can be torn or damaged. Loosen hose by twisting. Loosen charged air cooler inlet duct to turbocharger clamp and remove inlet duct.
  6. Disconnect banjo bolt from junction block. Disconnect 3 fuel pipes from junction block. Disconnect other end of fuel pipe junction block to fuel rail. Remove 2 nuts holding junction block. Remove junction block.
