TDC Offset Clear & Relearn (Turbo/EFI)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sierra, 2003 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2003 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install scan tool and start engine. Operate engine until Engine Coolant Temperature (ETC) is greater than 170°F (77°C). Clear all DTCs. With key on and engine off, hold accelerator pedal in wide open throttle position for a minimum of 45 seconds. Turn ignition off for 30 seconds.
  2. Start engine. Verify with scan tool that TDC offset has been cleared to zero. If not, repeat previous step. As soon as ECT is greater than 170°F (77°C) and engine speed is less than 1500 RPM, PCM will automatically learn new offset. New offset should be -0.25 to -0.75. If not, see TDC OFFSET ADJUSTMENT (TURBO/EFI) .
