Wiring Harness Assembly Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Sierra, 2003 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, 2003 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado, and 2002 GMC Sierra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install internal wiring harness connector into the main housing. Using Wiring Harness Connector Installer (J-4427) or equivalent, install connector of internal wiring harness into main housing. The 4 tabs on connector should snap into place. See Fig 1.
  2. Remove ON/OFF shift solenoid retainer clips. Install internal wiring harness onto main valve body. Install solenoid retainer clips over wiring harness tabs. See Figure.
  3. Connect the wiring harness to the following components. See Figure.
    • Pressure Switch Assembly
    • "C" ON/OFF Shift Solenoid
    • "F" Trim Solenoid
    • "D" ON/OFF Shift Solenoid
    • "E" ON/OFF Shift Solenoid
    • "B" Trim Solenoid
    • "A" Trim Solenoid
  4. Install connector shipping cover into connector of internal wiring harness if transmission is not to be installed immediately.
