Removing Transmission From Repair Stand

  1. With transmission in a horizontal position, attach sling and hoist. Put moderate tension on hoist.
  2. Disconnect and remove transmission from adapter plate. See Figure. Place wood blocks on bench before moving transmission to bench. Move transmission assembly to workbench and place with oil pan downward on wood blocks.
  3. If equipped, install 2 NEW PTO access cover gaskets and covers. Install and tighten cover bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install PTO(s) per vehicle-specific instructions.
