New Switch

  1. Place the selector shaft in the "N" (Neutral) position by using a wrench on the selector shaft flats. Rotate shaft to its fullest clockwise position, then rotate selector shaft counterclockwise by 2 detents. See Figure.
  2. Align flats on hub of NSBU switch with flats of selector shaft. While maintaining correct NSBU switch-to-selector shaft alignment, install switch onto selector shaft. Install and tighten retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Hold tab of neutral assurance bracket and pull bracket from NSBU switch. See Figure. Align selector lever with the selector shaft. If lever is punched, punched side should face main case. Install lever onto selector shaft until fully seated on shaft shoulder.
  4. Hand install selector shaft nut to shaft. Hold lever in place and tighten nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
