Control Valve Assembly Installation

  1. Position main housing so valve body face of main housing is facing upward. Install a lint-free cloth into park pawl apply assembly guide hole to prevent selector valve pin from falling into transmission. See Figure.
  2. Align selector valve pin with the manual selector valve. Rotate selector valve pin until pin can be installed into manual selector valve. See Figure. Rotate selector valve pin until pin can be installed into manual selector valve. Install pin and manual selector valve into shift valve body.
  3. Align control valve assembly with main housing while installing selector valve pin into detent lever. Use caution not to drop manual selector valve as it can be easily damaged. See Figure.
  4. Align 2 dowel pins of control valve assembly with dowel pin holes in main housing. Install control valve assembly onto main housing. Remove cloth from park pawl apply assembly guide hole. Install 15 control valve assembly bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install detent spring assembly onto main valve body. Ensure roller of detent spring assembly rests on detent lever. Install 2 retaining bolts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . See Figure.
