Wiring Harness Assembly
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Sierra, 2003 GMC Cab & Chassis Sierra, 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, 2003 Chevrolet Cab & Chassis Silverado, and 2002 GMC Sierra. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Position transmission with oil pan upward. If present, remove wiring harness connector shipping cover. Using a 1-3/16" (30-32 mm) deep socket or box end wrench, depress 4 tabs on internal wiring harness connector. With tabs depressed, gently pop connector into and through the main transmission housing by hand. See Fig 1.
- Disconnect internal wiring harness connectors from following components. See Fig 2.
- "A" and "B" trim solenoids.
- "C", "D" and "E" ON/OFF shift solenoids.
- "F" trim solenoid.
- Pressure switch assembly.
- Remove solenoid retainers from "D" and "E" ON/OFF solenoids. Remove internal wiring harness from main valve body and reinstall solenoid retainers.
