C1 Clutch Housing Piston Inspection

  1. Inspect C1 housing piston for damage. See Figure and Fig 1 . Ensure piston ball moves freely and has a minimum of .04" (1.0 mm) travel parallel to centerline of C1 piston housing. If specification is not met, replace C1 housing piston.
  2. Measure thickness of piston thrust washer in at least 3 places. Compare measurement to specifications. See ROTATING CLUTCH MODULE SPECIFICATIONS  table under TRANSMISSION SPECIFICATIONS. If thickness is less than minimum specification at any point, replace thrust washer.
