C1 Clutch Backplate Inspection

  1. Measure wear surface thickness of C1 clutch backplate (dimension "A") in at least 3 locations. See Fig 1. Compare measurement to specifications. See ROTATING CLUTCH MODULE SPECIFICATIONS  table under TRANSMISSION SPECIFICATIONS. If backplate is less than minimum thickness at any point, replace backplate.
  2. Place backplate on a level surface and measure cone of backplate (dimension "B") in at least 3 locations. See Fig 2. Compare measurement to specifications. See ROTATING CLUTCH MODULE SPECIFICATIONS  table under TRANSMISSION SPECIFICATIONS. If cone is more than specified at any location, replace backplate.
