Main Shaft Inspection

  1. Inspect main shaft pilots for damage. Measure main shaft pilots (dimension "A"). See Fig 1. Compare measurements to specifications. See PLANETARY GEAR MODULE SPECIFICATIONS  table under TRANSMISSION SPECIFICATIONS. Replace main shaft if not within specification.
  2. Inspect main shaft journal contact area for damage. Measure journal contact area for P2 planetary bushing (dimension "B"). Compare measurements to specifications. See PLANETARY GEAR MODULE SPECIFICATIONS  table under TRANSMISSION SPECIFICATIONS. Replace main shaft if not within specification.
