Installation (8.1L With Harrison - Avalanche, Escalade, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon)

  1. Add the proper amount of PAG oil to the compressor crankcase. See SPECIFICATIONS . Install the A/C compressor drain plug. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
    2. NOTE: Insert the mounting bolt into the lower right mounting bracket before installing the A/C compressor.
  2. Install the A/C compressor to the mounting bracket. Install the 3 A/C compressor mounting bolts. See Figure. Tighten to specification. Connect the electrical connectors to the A/C compressor. Install the A/C compressor hose assembly to the compressor using new sealing washers. See SEALING WASHER .
  3. Install the A/C compressor hose bolt to the A/C compressor. Tighten Install the right wheel house panel. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly.
  4. Install the A/C belt. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. See RECOVERY/EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Leak test the fittings of the component using a Leak Detector.
