Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disconnect negative battery cable. Move shifter to "L" position. Remove shifter trim plate. Remove rubber pad from storage compartment. Remove bolts located at bottom of storage compartment. Remove nuts located at rear of shifter assembly.
  2. Remove center console power accessory port. Disconnect wire harness connector from center console. Pull center console rearward to release retainers from instrument panel. Remove center console. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
