Removal (3.8L)

Turn OFF the ignition. HO2S 1 is located in exhaust manifold. See Figure. HO2S 2 is located behind catalytic converter. See Figure. Remove fuel injector sight shield (upper engine cover) from engine. Remove the HO2S retaining clip from the bracket. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector tab from the HO2S 1 retaining clip. Remove the HO2S electrical connector retainer. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the rear oxygen sensor (2) from the rear exhaust manifold carefully using the Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194).
