Removal (3.8L)

  1. Turn OFF the ignition. Remove fuel injector sight shield (upper engine cover) from engine. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve harness connector. See Figure.
  2. Disconnect the pipe and vacuum supply hose from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Release the retaining tab on the EVAP canister purge mounting bracket and remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid. Inspect for carbon release exiting the EVAP canister purge solenoid. See EVAP SYSTEM CLEANING .
