Removal (3.8L - Inlet Pipe)

NOTE: The EGR valve inlet pipe may also be referred to as the EGR valve adapter pipe.
  1. Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve. See EGR VALVE . If applicable, remove the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump outlet pipe. See SECONDARY AIR INJECTION PUMP OUTLET PIPE/HOSE .
  2. Remove the EGR valve outlet pipe. See REMOVAL (3.8L - OUTLET PIPE) . Remove the EGR valve inlet pipe mounting bolt from the exhaust manifold. See Figure. Remove the mounting bolt, and the stud from the EGR valve inlet pipe bracket. Remove the EGR valve inlet pipe assembly.
