Removal & Installation

Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE under FUEL SYSTEMS. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the CNG fuel tank shield. See FUEL TANK SHIELD under FUEL SYSTEMS. Disconnect the Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor (1) electrical connector. Remove the FTP sensor from the tank valve. See Fig 1. Discard the "O" ring.

NOTE: Before installation, lubricate the new "O" ring face seal with petroleum jelly or equivalent.

Install the FTP sensor in the tank valve using a NEW "O" ring. Tighten the FTP sensor to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Connect the FTP sensor electrical connector. Connect the negative battery cable. Start the vehicle and use Ultrasonic Leak Detector (J 45878) in order to inspect for CNG fuel leaks at each serviced fitting. Install the CNG fuel tank shield. See FUEL TANK SHIELD .
