Fuel Rail Assembly (CNG Only): Removal

NOTE:
Combustible Gas Detector (J-45878) is required for this procedure. See Figure
.
- Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect the negative battery cable(s). Before removal, clean the fuel rail assembly with a spray type engine cleaner if necessary. Do not soak fuel rails in liquid cleaning solvent. Remove the engine sight shield.
- Loosen and remove the fuel line-to-rail clamps. See Figure . Remove the fuel line retainers. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rails. Disconnect the fuel rail temperature sensor and fuel rail pressure sensor electrical connectors. See Figure . Identify the injector connectors to their corresponding engine cylinder to ensure correct sequential injector firing order after reassembly. Disconnect the 8 fuel injector electrical connectors. Remove the fuel rail attaching bolts. Remove the fuel rail with injectors as an assembly.
