Removal & Installation

NOTE: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system. Replacement components must be the correct part number for the application.

Turn ignition off. Remove the engine cover. Drain the coolant below the level of the ECT sensor. Disconnect the electrical connector. Carefully remove the ECT sensor. See Fig 1 or Fig 2
Coat the threads with Sealer (GM 9985253). Install the ECT sensor. Tighten ECT sensor to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect the ECT sensor harness connector to the ECT sensor. Refill the cooling system. Install the engine cover.
