Removal & Installation (4.3L)

However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: DO NOT try to disassemble the linear EGR valve. Service the EGR valve only as a complete assembly. DO NOT soak in any liquid cleaner or solvent because Linear EGR valve is an electrical component. Damage may result. Carefully note the position of the linear EGR valve before removal. DO NOT rotate the linear EGR valve 180 degrees.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Remove the linear EGR harness connector. See Figure. Remove the bolts attaching the linear EGR valve to the flange. See Fig 1. Remove the linear EGR valve. Remove and discard the flange gasket. See Fig 2.
  2. Clean the EGR valve gasket surface. Install NEW flange gasket. Install the linear EGR valve. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
