Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Yukon XL, 2002 GMC Yukon, 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Route the drive belt around all the pulleys except the idler pulley.
- Install the breaker bar with hex-head socket to the belt tensioner bolt.
- Rotate the belt tensioner clockwise in order to relieve the tension on the tensioner.
- Install the drive belt under the idler pulley.
- Slowly release the tension on the belt tensioner.
- Remove the breaker bar and socket from the belt tensioner bolt.
- Inspect the drive belt for proper installation and alignment.
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
- Install the radiator inlet hose clip to the outlet duct.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps at the following locations:
- Throttle body
- MAF/IAT sensor
Tighten: Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp screws to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
IMPORTANT:
Align the arrow at the throttle body end of the duct with the throttle body attaching stud.
