Vacuum Pump: Removal

NOTE: Required Tools: Power Steering Pump Pulley Remover (J-25034-C) and Power Steering Pump Pulley Installer (J-25033-C).
  1. Disconnect both of the battery negatives. Remove the drive belt from the drive pulleys. See DRIVE BELT .
  2. Raise the vehicle. Remove the vacuum line from the vacuum pump.
  3. Remove the vacuum pump pulley:
    1. Attach the Steering Pump Pulley Remover to the pulley.
    2. Remove the pulley from the vacuum pump using the Steering Pump Pulley Remover.
  4. Remove the vacuum pump mounting bolts. Remove the vacuum pump from the generator bracket.
