WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2002 GMC Savana Special, 2002 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2002 GMC Savana, 2002 Chevrolet RV Cutaway, and 2002 Chevrolet Cutaway. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cables from the batteries. Remove the right side lower intake manifold or left side lower intake in order to access the fuel injection pipes. See INTAKE MANIFOLDS .
  2. NOTE: Do not bend the fuel injector lines in order to ease in the removal of the valve rocker arm cover.
  3. Remove the fuel injection lines and clips for the fuel injection nozzles. Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts.
  4. NOTE: Prying on the valve rocker arm cover may cause damage to the sealing surfaces. Use a block of wood against the side of the valve rocker arm cover and strike with a hammer in a sideways direction to shear the RTV sealant.
  5. Remove the valve rocker arm cover from the cylinder head. Clean the sealing surfaces on the valve rocker arm and the cylinder head.
