Oil Pan: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cables from the battery. Remove the oil level indicator and tube. See OIL LEVEL INDICATOR & TUBE . Raise the vehicle. Drain the engine oil. Remove the transmission oil cooler lines from the retainer.
  2. Remove the oil pan from the engine block. See Fig 1. Remove the oil pan rear oil seal. Clean the sealing surfaces for the oil pan and the engine block.
