Engine Front Cover: Removal

  1. Remove water pump. See WATER PUMP .
  2. Remove crankshaft balancer. See CRANKSHAFT BALANCER .
  3. Disconnect Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove engine harness clips from battery cable channel.
  5. Remove CMP sensor bolt and sensor. See Figure.
  6. Remove battery cable channel bolt.
  7. Remove and reposition battery cable channel.
  8. Remove engine front cover bolts. Remove engine front cover. See Figure.
  9. Remove engine front cover gasket.
  10. Remove crankshaft front oil seal from front cover.
