Removal & Installation: Camshaft: Installation

  1. Apply Lubricant (12345501) to camshaft lobes, camshaft bearing journals and camshaft bearings.
  2. Install three 8-1.25 x 100 mm bolts into camshaft threaded bolt holes. Using bolts as a handle, carefully install camshaft. See Fig 1.
  3. Remove bolts from front of camshaft.
  4. Install camshaft retainer and bolts. Tighten camshaft retainer bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install timing chain and sprocket. See TIMING CHAIN & SPROCKETS .
  6. Install valve lifters. See VALVE LIFTER REPLACEMENT .
  7. Install A/C condenser.
  8. Install grille.
