Camshaft Bearing: Installation

  1. Assemble the tool handle, expanding driver, and washer.
  2. Insert the camshaft bearing service set tool into engine block end camshaft bearings.
  3. Drive the end bearings into the bore.
  4. Select the expanding driver and washer from the camshaft bearing service set and assemble the tool.
  5. Insert the camshaft bearing service set tool through the front of engine block and to inner bearing bores.
  6. Install bearing onto the expanding driver.
  7. Tighten the expander assembly nut until the tool is snug in the bearing.
  8. Align the oil lubrication hole in the bearing with the oil galleries in engine block.
  9. Push the guide cone into the front camshaft bearing bore to align the tool.
  10. Drive bearing into bore.
