Cylinder Head: Disassembly

  1. Use Valve Spring Compressor (J-5892-D) to compress valve springs.
  2. Remove valve stem keys. See Figure.
  3. Release and remove the valve spring compressor.
  4. Remove valve cap, valve spring, positive valve stem seal from valve guide, valve rotator, and valve. See Figure.
  5. Disconnect Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor from bracket.
  6. Remove ECT sensor from right cylinder head.
  7. Remove ECT sensor bracket and bolt.
  8. Remove cylinder head coolant hole plug from the left cylinder head.
