Crankshaft Balancer Cleaning & Inspection

  1. Clean crankshaft balancer in solvent.
  2. Dry crankshaft balancer with compressed air.
  3. Inspect crankshaft balancer for damaged belt grooves, debris in belt grooves, worn, grooved, or damaged hub seal surface. Minor imperfections on hub seal surface may be removed with a polishing compound or fine grade of emery cloth. Crankshaft balancer hub seal surface with excessive scoring, grooves, rust or other damage must be replaced. Worn, chunking or deteriorated rubber between the hub and pulley must be replaced.
  4. Repair or replace crankshaft balancer as necessary.
